The trial was discussed at our Joint Cardiology/Endo/Renal Journal club today. Consensus: this article confirms that the meree presence of RAS and HTN is not an indication for stenting. Most of us will continue our current practice of evaluating for (and considering stenting in) the following patient categories - none of which were evaluated in CORAL: recurrent pulmonary edema, rapid deterioration in renal function, and hypertension uncontrolled despite maximal medical therapy.
